History

Originally known as the "Motor Coach Court," created by Scott King, Travelodge first opened its doors and pioneered the economy segment in 1939 in San Diego, California.


Since then, the brand's goal of providing value-conscious travelers comfortable accommodations and friendly service has expanded to include valuable amenities, Sleepy Bear premium den rooms at many locations and a portfolio of nearly 500 locations throughout North America.
